CENTENARY CRICKET
AUSTRALIA v. THE REST. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, December 9. What is described as a centenary cricket match, in which Australian Test players are participating, began on the Melbourne Cricket Ground today. A boisterous northerly wind proved troublesome. The teams were an Australian eleven led by Bradman and the Rest, led by Rigg, the match attracting only a moderate crowd. Rigg won the toss and batted. Play was stopped by bad light. Scores: — THE REST. First Innings. Rigg, b Fleetwood-Smith 48 Lee, ran out 12 Gregory, lbw b Fleetwood-Smith 14 S.
