CANADIAN APPLES

BIG SHIPMENT OVERSEAS.

MONTREAL, Canada

A total of 140,932 boxes of fresh Canadian apples were shipped overseas through the port of Montreal in the first week of October, establishing a new high weekly record for shipments of this commodity. The apples went mostly to England, with considerable quantities shipped to Scotland and Wales. South Africa also figured in the week’s apple exports, taking 25.014 boxes. Total exports of fresh apples from all Canadian ports for the present season to October 13 amounted to 485,011 full barrels, 43,022 half barrels and 545.522 boxes.
