OTTAWA. Canada

In 1937 the output of pianos was practically double that of the previous year, namely 4020 instruments valued at 601,822 dollars, as compared with 2096 instruments valued at 315,045 dollars in 1936. This increase may be attributed partly to the innovation of the “apartment’’ piano, a small instrument ideal-! 1 ly suited to modern space demands. 1
