At the wool sales 7,157 bales were offered, including 2,764 from New Zealand and 5,621 were sold. There was a moderate selection and withdrawals were frequent all round. New Zealand, greasy halfbred, Acland, brought ibid. » Throughout the series, 104,200 bales were offered, including 39,500 from New Zealand, and 85,500 were sold, including 31,500 from New Zealand. Best greasy Merino closed at par with the September sales. Good average wools were five per cent down and short-stapled were 74 per cent, lower. Bulky scoured wools declined by Z| per cent. Ordinary grades were 5 per cent lower, fine crossbreds al par to five per cent down, and medium and coarse crossbreds at par.
