HITLER’S MADNESS
DENOUNCED BV GANDHI SYMPATHY FOR GERMAN JEWS. NON-VIOLENT RESISTANCE ADVISED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) BOMBAY, December 6. Mr Gandhi, in an article in the “Harijan,” says: “If ever there could be a justifiable war in the name of humanity it would be a war against Germany, in order to prevent wanton persecution of a whole race. It would he completely justified, but I do not believe in war. Tyrants never went as mad as Hitler. If I were a German Jew, I would refuse to submit to expulsion or discrimination.”
Recommending' non-violent resistance, Mr Gandhf adds: “I am convinced that, if a leader with courage and vision can arise, their despair can be turned into hope. It would then be a religious resistance against the godless fury of a dehumanised man.” .
