IN EVENT OF ATTACK CHAMBERLAIN’S ASSURANCE TO DOMINIONS. EMPIRE RESPONSIBILITIES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 5. In an answer in the House of Commons today the Prime Minister declared: “I am sure I shall be rightly interpreting the wishes of the people of this country by saying that if any other part of the British Commonwealth were attacked we should without hesitation go to its aid.” Mr Chamberlain prefaced this with the statement that the general position was that it was for each member of the Commonwealth to decide the extent to which it would participate in any war in which another member might be engaged.
