CANCER TREATMENT

“USE-OF “HEAVY WATER.” By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, December 5. The “Daily Herald” says that Dr G. A. Stephens and Mr M. W. Williams, of Swansea, using subcutaneous injections of “heavy water,” enabled a patient suffering from cancer of the tongue upon which an operation could not be performed, to eat and speak, which was impossible last month. American scientists discovered “heavy water” in 1933 in ordinary water proportions of one to 6000. It can be produced by passing electricity through water and is readily obtainable in Norway owing to the number of electric plants and waterfalls there.
