THE TREATMENT OF JEWS IN GERMANY A. —. PERMANENT RESTRICTION TO LIMITED AREAS. YELLOW ROSETTE TO BE WORN PROMINENTLY. By Telegrapn— .tress Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.50 a.m.) BERLIN, December 5. Decrees of December 3, the forerunners of similar ones to be introduced throughout Germany, will relegate Jews in Berlin to a more oppressive ghetto than that of the middle ages. Whereas they then enjoyed freedom of movement, except after the curfew, they are now permanently restricted to limited quarter. They must not enter the section of the Wilhelmstrasse containing the Government offices nor the Vonstrasse or Unter den Linden. The ban is being extended to include most of Berlin. Jews living outside the ghetto have been officially advised to move to the prescribed area, in which Berlin’s most dismal streets are to be found.
An order is being issued, requiring Jews to wear prominently a yellow rosette, as a racial symbol.
