AGRICULTURAL CLUBS
MASTERTON GROUP JUDGING TODAY CALF & LAMB COMPETITIONS. LARGE ENTRIES RECEIVED. The Masterton group judging in the Wairarapa Boys’ and Giris’ Agricultural Calf Clubs' competition took place at Solway Showgrounds this morning. Excellent entries were received and competition was keen and close throughout, making the task of the judges a difficult one. For the first time, a competition was held for the best fat lamb, and the event drew large entries. Next year it is hoped to organise the lamb competition so that it will include two classes, separating the white faces from the black faces.
At the conclusion of the judging, Mr W. Moore, judge of the calf class, gave a most interesting and informative demonstration of the main points and type/of the winning animal. The results were as follow:
