Miss Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.65. Shade temperature: Maximum 59.2, minimum 48.0, terrestrial 47.8. Sunshine, nil. Rain, 1.72 inches. General situation: Yesterday’s disturbance is now passing eastward, a deep low-pressure centre being located off the East Coast of the North Island; an anticyclone of slight intensity is approaching across the North Tasman Sea but a fresh depression has passed Tasmania. Forecast: Strong southerly winds to gales, decreasing gradually; weather cloudy to overcast, with showers or drizling rain, more especially east of the ranges, but later improving; temperatures cold.
