There was an astounding scene ift the Court of Appeal when Frank Harrison, after the rejection of his application for a new County Court trial, returned to the Court, when the judges were departing at lunch time, and shouted: “I want justice, at the same time throwing several tomatoes at Lord Justices Clausen and Goddard. The tomatoes missed the judges and burst against some woodwork. A spectator seized Harrison’s arm, thus preventing him throwing more. The judges returned to the Bench. Lord Clauson said: “We have dealt with the application to the best of our ability.” Harrison was sentenced to six weeks imprisonment for contempt of court. Yelling: “There is no justice left in England,” he was then hustled out.
