EXILES FROM GERMANY
WORK OF INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE PROSPECTS IMPROVING STEADILY. FULL MEETING TO BE HELD SHORTLY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, December 2. After a meeting of the Vice-Chair-man’s Committee, set up by the Evian Conference, a statement was issued that the Director had submitted a report on the work which had been done since the last meeting. He was able to state that prospects for the settlement of involuntary emigrants from Germany were steadily improving, but the establishment of orderly conditions of emigration continued to depend in large measure on the attitude of the country of origin. After reviewing the work, the committee meeting considered future procedure and decided to leave it to the chairman, in consultation with the Director, to summon a meeting of the full committee in the near future. It is considered that a full meeting should be held in any event early in the new year.
