WOMEN SWIMMERS

FINE TEAM FOR EDUCATIONAL TOUR. ALL PARTS OF DOMINION TO BE VISITED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. What is described as the finest team of wompn swimmers ever assembled in New Zealand has been selected by the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, to make an education tour of the Dominion in the forthcoming season. The team comprises Mrs E. C. Isaacs (Dunedin), a former New Zealand diving champion, manager; Miss Mona Leydon (Auckland), free-style champion and record-holder and Empire Games swimmer; Miss Kathleen Grey (Auckland, intermediate champion and re-cord-holder; Miss Winnie Dunn (Dunedin), breaststroke champion and re-cord-holder and Empire Games swimmer, and Miss Joyce MacDonald (Invercargill), backstroke champion and record-holder and Empire Games swimmer. The team will start its tour as soon as necessary arrangements can be made and it.is proposed that the tour shall continue throughout the entire swimming season; terminating probably about the . end of March. All parts of New Zealand will be visited. The principal purpose of the tour is to teach swimming to school children, and it will form an important part of the campaign, which is being undertaken this summer for the teaching of 700,00 persons to swim,
