Germany's first aircraft carrier, with 16 six-inch, 10 four-inch and 22 antiaircraft guns, of 19,250 tons and with a speed of 32 knots is to be launched at Kiel on December 8. Concerning the launching, Marshal Goering declares that in a future war the navy will take the offensive in the Atlantic. A high-speed aircraft carrier is being attached to every fleet by February 2, 1939. The naval building has been planned in accordance with the Anglo-German naval pact.
