MAHUNGA GOLF CLUB

NINTH ANNUAL MEETING. NO INCREASE IN SUBSCRIPTION. Mr A. O. Jones occupied the chair at the ninth annual meeting of the Mahunga Golf Club, which was held last night. There was a very good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from the club’s patron, Mr T. Jordan and the. president Mr G. H. Perry. Speaking to the annual report, the chairman complimented the committee on the results achieved during the past year, and on the improvements carried out by way of access, in the provision of cattle stops and in the improvements by way of drains and on the fairways generally. He considered the links were in better order than ever in the past. The report and balance sheet were unanimously adopted. No increase in the subscription is to take place during the forthcoming season, and the entrance fee has also been waived. Green fees, however, have been increased from Is 6d a round to 2s, while the fee for a day’s golf remains at 2s 6d. The question of insurance for members was discussed, and it was decided to recommend the committee to make enquiries and report to the members at a later meeting. , Appreciation of the work of the secretary and treasurer (Mr J. G. McFarlane). was conveyed by the chairman, who also referred to the work of the auditor, Mr D. B. Curry. The Press was thanked for its courtesies to the club at all times. The -following officers were elected for the ensuing season: —Patron, Mr T. Jordan; president, Mr G- H. Perry; vice-presidents, Messrs C. A. Burling and F. C. Brockett; captain, Mr I. I. McGregor; vice-captain, Mr R. Lendrum; ladies’ captain, Miss I. Rudd; committee, Messrs G. R. Brisco, L. Roach, S. Jenkins, C. Sutherland, D. Hunn, Miss E. Wyber; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr J. G. McFarlane; hon auditor, Mr D. B. Curry.
