QUEEN OF THE ICE
IN BOBBY BREEN PICTURE
Irene Dare is making her film debut with Bobby Breen in "Breaking The Ice,” which is coming to the State Theatre on Friday. The six-year-old lass from St. Paul, Minn., is a veritable scorcher on skates. Her short legs pump like toy pistons in giving her sufficient momentum to carry her fifty pounds of personality through her Charlotte stops, whirls and figureeight. Her pre-production schedule required Irene to rehearse three hours daily under the watchful eye of her mother. To give Irene the proper send-off on her film career, Producer Sol Lesser allotted 100,000 dollars to the ice skating sequencesHn which she appears. The result is that the icecarnival spectacle is one of the most elaborate and entrancingly beautiful seen on the screen in many a day.
