STORY DENIED
MOBILISATION OF GERMAN TROOPS
ON CZECH FRONTIER.
REPORT CALLED RIDICULOUS IN BERLIN.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrigh' LONDON, November 29.
The “News Chronicle” publishes a report from a “reliable source” that Germany is secretly mobilising three army corps on the Czech frontier as a reply, it is believed, to Poland’s and Hungary’s persistent agitation for the annexation of Ruthenia to give them rhe common frontier which Germany opposes.
Six divisions are reported to be already completely mobilised and the lemaining three are in the process.
Well-informed circles, states the paper, suspect that Hitler wishes to hold his hand till some incident prompts the pro-German elements in the Czech. Slovak, and Ruthenian Governments to call for Germany’s armed support, giving him a pretext for overrunning the whole country and occupying Prague. The Propaganda Ministry in Berlin, however, completely denies the “News Chronicle’s” story, describing it as “ridiculous.”
