The Vienna correspondent of “The Times” says that Herr Hitler arrived secretly there on November 26 to discuss the release of Dr von Schuschnigg who is understood to have been offered freedom for himself and his wife and son to leave the country, but that he refused unless a number of his former associates are granted an amnesty. The correspondent adds that it is learned from a most trustworthy source that an extensive purge of local Nazis, in which 135 were recently shot, has taken place.
