FROM BURNING HOUSE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, November 29? The 10-year-old daughter of Mr Nehe Tu, a Maori settler of Puha, narrowly escaped death when a fire destroyed her home early this morning. The father believed that all members of the family were safe and returned to the burning house to salvage some bedding. He found the girl snugly sleeping under a pile of bedding and rescued her just in time by diving through a window. The building was totally destroyed.
