BASEBALL MATCHES

WELLINGTON TEAM TO PLAY AT MASTERTON. On Saturday week, December 3, four of Wellington’s leading baseball teams will play their usual competition matches in Masterton at the A. and P. Showgrounds, Solway. Jenkins Gymnasium will meet Webb’s Gymnasium and Ford Motors will play the Hutt Tigers. At present Jenkins and Ford are leading with equal points in the First League competition in Wellington, while Webb’s and Hutt are close behind. Baseball is something new to Masterton and is sure to attract a large crowd for there are certainly thi ills in plenty at this fast and spectaculai game. On this occasion there is a particularly worthy object behind the fixtures, for actually the gate receipts will go to the funds of the A. and P. Association. The two games will take about 3 hours to play, the first one commencing shortly after 1.30 p.m.
