CHURCH OCCASION
GATHERING AT STRASSBURG.
Protestants from Alsace and the rest of France gathered in large numbers at Strassburg on October 8 to celebrate the fourth centenary of the founding of the first church of the Reformation in France by Calvin. M. de Witt-Guizot, President of the French Protestant Society, lectured on Calvin and his literary work at Strassburg. M. Eugene Choisy spoke of Calvin and his work at Geneva until 15H8, and Pastor J. Pannier lectured on the DLiblic and private life of Calvin at Strassburg. The choir of the church of the Rue du Bouclier at Strassburg sang a number of psalms with accompanying music of 1539.
