ASSURANCE DEMANDED BY U.S.A. PROTECTION OF JEWISH NATIONALS. EXEMPTION FROM RESTRICTIVE DECREES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) BERLIN, November 22. The American Charge D’Affaires, Mr Prentiss Gilbert, has sent a Note to the Foreign Office demanding a formal assurance that American Jews were exempted from the recent decrees forbidding Jews to engage in professions or occupations not specifically permitted, like those of doctors, lawyers and scientists.
