FORESTERS’ LODGE
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Ancient Order of Foresters was held last night, the Chief Ranger, Bro. T. N. N. Coley, presiding over a fair attendance of members. Bro. R. Walker reported on the sick brethren who were all doing as well as could be expected. An apology for non attendance was received from Bro. S. Sharman. The Christmas tree committee reported that the arrangements for that function were well in hand. The District Secretary wrote advising that he was forwarding a circular explaining the Social Security Act in-so-far as it related to the Friendly Societies. All members will receive a copy of the circular in due course, and the receipt of the same is being looked forward to with interest. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £42 10s were passed for payment. As no one present was prepared to read, sing or recite a fine of 3d each was collected. An endeavour will be made by members to avoid being penalised at the next meeting.
