GREYHOUND RACING
MEETING AT MASTERTON. DRAW FOR VARIOUS EVENTS. 1 Splendid nominations have been received for the opening greyhound racing meeting to be held at the Solway Showgrounds, Masterton, next Saturday. Noted dogs from all parts of the North Island will compete, including the ■ present Wanganui champion, Grand Mogul. Coursing supporters will note that two Waterloo Cup winners for 1937 and 1938 (Rereatu and The Clipper) will be competing in the Wairarapa Cup. Another noted starter in the Wairarapa Cup will be Golden King, who with Rereatu divided the Waterloo Plate at Invercargill last year. The public should not miss this opportunity of seeing Puketoi Magic, New Zealand’s outstanding hurdler in action. His graceful style and easy action are a pleasure to watch. The draw for the various events is as follows:— Solway Maiden: — First heat: Blazer, Wallace Blue, Ace Pot, Snow Drift, Golden King, Donald Dhu. Second heat: Helen Rufus, Card Sharper, ReC Terror, Mosquito Kid, Rebellion, Golden Veil. Third heat: Gay Boy, The Clipper, Silver Paper, Keen Sight, Great Worry, White Legion. Ladies’ Bracelet: —First heat: Slip’s Pride, Puketoi Magic, Stone Ginger, The Slam. Sparkling Morn. Second heat: Full Feather, Orui Girl, Great Worry, Lady Hurley, Queen of Diamonds. Maiden Hurdles: —The Dean, Sparkling Morn, Ace Pot, Slip’s Pride, Keen Sight, White Legion. Wairarapa Cup:—First heat: Rereatu, Mungi Taipo, The Clipper, Golden King, White Gold.
