« CONFERENCE OPENED IN WELLINGTON. ADDRESSES BY MINISTERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The national council of the Federation of Labour met this morning, It is attended by representatives from 18 trades councils, in addition to special extra delegates. The meeting was addressed by the Premier (Mr Savage) and the Finance Minister (Mr Nash). Mr B. Roberts,

M.P., was also present. The meeting is expected to last till Friday. Among the items of business to be discussed are policy matters, with the object of bettering the workers' conditions. The proceedings are not open to the Press.
