DRIVERS’ AWARD
PROPOSED CONFERENCE,
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November 21
The probability that a conference of representatives of owners oi transport businesses would be held in Wellington tomorrow to discuss the expressed dissatisfaction of employees with the recently issued drivers’ award was mentioned today by Mr EL J. Knight, secretary to the Transport Alliance. Mr Knight, who has been rn Dunedin about negotiations before the Transport Commission of Inquiry, left on his return to Wellington this evening. As a result of that conference he thought a conference with representatives of the drivers would be arranged for the following day. Nothing vzas definite, but those were tentative plans in an attempt to find a means oi eliminating the grounds for dissatisfaction.
An official of the Wellington Drivers’ Union said last night that a conference between the employers and Ihe representatives of the drivers would be held on Thursday.
