CHAMPION TROTTER
GREYHOUND COMING TO N.Z. FIVE RACES AT EASTER (By Telegraph— Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Greyhound, the champion trotter of the world, will come to New Zealand to compete in five races at Easter. A cablegram giving this information has been received from Mr Robert A. Smith, who is acting for the owner of Greyhound in connection with the proposed visit. The message states that if me dates are satisfactory, and also a guarantee of ten thousand dollars for each of the five races is obtained, Greyhound’s owner will acept. In light of messages which have been exchanged, this means that the owner of Greyhound will pay all expenses, and that ho will receive ten thousand dollars for each race the horse competes in. The first of the series of matches or races will most likely be held at Addington on April 8. 12 and 13. The contests will be over varying distances, probably one mile, a mile and a half, and two miles. Other horses such as Lucky Jack. Parisienne, Logan Derby, Plutus and Pot Luck may be invited to compete. _
