KNOX SUNDAY SCHOOL

SPLENDID PERFORMANCE GIVEN BY CHILDREN’S CHOIR. ANNIVERSARY PROGRAMME REPEATED. The anniversary celebration of the Knox Sunday School was repeated yesterday at both morning and afternoon services. The Rev John Davie was the preacher and the church was filled on both occasions. An outstanding performance was given by the children conducted by Mr G Masters and his co-workers. The hymn, “Onward Christiaq Soldiers,” was a revelation fo? children’s voices, and the work of Mr C. W. Kerry at the organ and Miss E. Stubbings, L.R.S.M., at the piano, produced a wonderful effect. Arrangements have been made for the children’s choir to broadcast from 2YA and listeners have a treat in store for them. O.ne musical critic stated after the •service that he never heard a better performance. Several girls from. Solway College gave an effective scripture reading. At the conclusion of the evening service Mr Davie was eulogistic in his praises of the children. He also referred to the work of Mr Masters (conductor) and Miss Stubbings (pianiste) and all co-workers. Mr Davie invited all the children to take part as a choir at the foundation stonelaying ceremony, which will be held on Saturday, December 10. commencing at 2 p.m,
