ST. ANDREW’S NIGHT
SCOTTISH CONCERT ARRANGED An excellent entertainment is promised at the Opera House on Wednesday, November 30, on the occasion of St Andrew’s night, when a Scottish concert is to be presented by the St Andrew Society. Prominent among the many artists who are to contribute items are Misses Betty and Vivienne Blamires. who have won distinction in the world of music by their performances on the piano and violin respectively. Many Masterton music-lovers will welcome an opportunity of hearing these talented young players. Others who are to give items are: Miss Edith Ralph, Miss Jameson, Mrs G. Milne, Mrs Robert Miller, Mr William C. Mann and Mr L. Donald, while a Scottish one-act play will also be presented. A feature of the evening’s programme will be the Scottish folk dancing by members of the society. Folk dancing has become most popular and the society has denoted considerable attention to the promotion of this activity. Tickets may be obtained from members of the council, the Wairarapa Seed Co, the Chief, Mr H. McKenzie Douglas, and from Mr H. E. Pither’s shop, where the box plan will open on November 24.
