LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET SLOW Lamb market: Supplies home-killed still heavy, but tending to decrease. Trade in imported lamb slow with values unchanged. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, trade slow at unchanged prices. Beef market: Frozen beef, demand quiet: chilled beef, hindquarters steady, with fores slightly easier. Demand is affected by muggy weather. New Zealand porker pigs: Lightweights firmer but trade slow, affected by weather. New Zealand baconer pigs: Weaker owing to lower prices of Continental bacon. Boneless bobby veal: Trade very slow. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board from its London office, which advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market. Prices for the previous week are shown in parentheses: — New Zealand sheep.—Crossbred wethers and/or maiden ewes: 481 b and under, 4Jd (4gd); 491 b to 561 b, 4§ (4|d); 571 b to 641 b, 4|d (4Jd); 651 b to 721 b, 4Jd (4|d). Ewes, 481 b and under, 3d (3d); 491 b to 561 b, 2Jd (2gd); 571 b to 641 b, 2|d (2|d); 651 b to 721 b, 2|d (2|d).
