WOODVILLE IMPROVEMENTS

The qualities of the Woodville Racecourse as. a galloping track are wellknown to" all owners and trainers, and without detracting from the skilful and conscientious work of the caretaker (Mr Desrnond) it must be admitted that this saisfactory state of affairs is largely due to the nature of the soil arid the easy turns of the track. The worst part of the track in wet weather was that immediately in front of the stands, to drain which some sixteen chains of tile arid boulder drain are now being put in. It is confidently expected that this work will effect a great imprbvemeht under wet conditions.
