INDIAN WEDDING
ENTERTAINMENT AT SALVATION ARMY HALL. The Salvation Army Hall was crowded to the doors last night when an Indian wedding evening and a social provided all present with an enjoyable entertainment. Amid considerable excitement, the Indian bridal party arrivec at the hall at 8 o’clock, in traditional Indian attire. Lieut. Harewood, of Carterton, presided. Adjutant .Hutchins, who has had extended experience as a missionary officer in India, explained the customs associated with weddings in India anc went on to refer to the scope of missionary work in that country. Portion of the evening's programme included the celebration of an Indian wedding. Mr A. Miller Hope playec the wedding march. Vocal and instrumental items were given as follow: Mr William C. Mann, songs; Miss Jean Mackay, piano-accordeon; Miss Bernstein, songs; Mr Miller Hop£, pianc solos. The wedding cake was cut and piece; distributed to the audience. Major J. D. B. Mahaffie thanked al who had contributed to the programme and expressed his pleasure of the large attendance present that night.
