SCENE AT ARC DE TRIOMPHE M FLANDIN ASSAULTED BY BARRISTER CHALLENGE TO DUEL AWAITED By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. PARIS, November 15., When M. Flandin, Chairman of the Democratic Alliance Party, approached the unknown soldiers’ tomb at the Arc de Triomphe to place a wreath after the party congress today, a barrister, Maitre Jacquees Renouvin, rushed at him shouting: “You will not dishonour the tomb,” whereupon a scuffle occurred in which friends of both sides joined till the police parted them. Later Maitre Renouvin stated: “I acted as a protest against the telegram which M. Flandin sent to Hen- Hitler. I slapped him and now await the challenge to a duel.”
