The National Defence League of Australia was launched at a meeting in the Sydney Town Hall. It was stated that branches would be formed in all other States and in New Zealand. NATIONAL SERVICE COMPILATION OF REGISTER ADVOCATED. INCLUDING BOTH MEN AND WOMEN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The National Defence League meeting passed the following resolution: — “That this meeting affirms the vital necessity for every citizen being prepared to render national service for ihe defence of Australia and its mandated territories. This meeting calls upon all loyal citizens to forget party as regards the defence of Australia. It urges the Goa eminent to accelerate the compilation oi a national register of all men and women capable of assisting in any capacity in defence.”
