COLONIES PROBLEM
CONFERENCE ADVOCATED BY MR ATTLEE

The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Attlee, in a speech in Oldham said he believed a world conference was the only solution of the colonies problem. He opposed the handing over of peoples from one imperial power to another like counters in a bargain and favoured the mandate principle.
