Miss Tui Anderson, of Taratahi, is visiting her sister, Mrs Lewis, Palmerston North.

Mrs G. G. Hancox was a Masterton visitor to Wellington over the weekend. Miss Mollie Nee, of Masterton, was a visitor to Wellington during the week. Mrs T. Jordan, who had been on a visit to Wellington, returned home last night. Mrs J. Perry, Alfredton, is visiting her mother, Mrs W. G. Lamb, Herbert Street, Masterton.

Miss L. White, of Pahiatua, is the guest of Mrs S. Watson, New Plymouth.

Mrs J. Siddells, of Wangfanui, is on a visit to Pahiatua where she is the guest of Mrs S. K. Siddells. Mrs Nell Smith, Wellington, who has been visiting Mrs L. Cross, Church Street, Masterton, has returned home. The death occurred in a private hospital at Pahiatua on Saturday of Mrs Jessie Catherine McCosh, relict of the late Mr William McCosh, at the age of 71 years. Miss Josephine Rutherford, formerly of Masterton, was the guest of honour at a party given at “Waitio” by Mesdajnes Gregorie and Wilson on Thursday last. In spite of pouring rain, there was a large attendance and a pleasant afternoon was spent. Miss Rutherford looked charming in navy georgette, trimmed with narrow cream lace. Mrs Jennings presented her with a posy. The bride-to-be thanked her Makuri friends for the useful and pretty gifts and also for their good wishes. The party ended with three cheers for Miss Rutherford and Mr Harvey. ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced of Mary Muriel, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Smith, Carterton, and Thomas Frederick Collerton, Masterton, only son of Mr and Mrs T. G. Collerton, Carterton. The engagement is announced of Marjorie Christie, younger daughter of Mrs N. K. Christie, of Masterton, and the late Mr C. Christie, of Wellington, to Norman K. Johns, eldest son of Mr and Mrs N. Johns, Wellington.
