PAPER LAMPSHADES

CAN BE MADE AT HOME. Hand-painted paper lampshades can be made at home quite cheaply. Use manilia paper, and if water-colours are to be used, first paint on the design and then (when dry) make the paper translucent with an application of equal parts of raw linseed oil and turpentine. For oil work, however, make the paper translucent first and then paint on the design.
