NEW GLOVES

COLOURFUL AND ATTRACTIVE. CHOOSE THEM WITH CARE. Never have gloves been more attractive and colourful, and made in so many different styles, as they are at present, and as every smart woman knows that an ill-fitting or badly-col-oured glove can make or mar her en-

semble, the choice for race wear, cocktails, or evening can be made from a great assortment of interesting-looking materials and colours. Hand-made gloves, with belts and

bags to match, are exceedingly popular, and all are made in vivid colours —red, green in all shades, bright mustard, all colours from burgundy to clover, blues ranging from duck-egg to royal, and the always indispensable black and navies. They are made with

hand-stitched welts, some stitched in contrasting thread, others in matching colour. For heavier tweeds, pigskin is preferred, and when allied with a handbag to match completes an ideal outfit.

From the Paris Exposition comes beautiful suede, soft as silk, usually in three-quarter length gauntlets, the backs delightfully embroidered in pastel colours, some in a design of French knots, others with sprays of flowers. Others, for cocktail wear, have pat-

terns of diamante studded on the backs some in white, some in rainbow colours. all with the gauntlet in the same length, made fairly wide to cover the cuff of the frock or coat. Another French model of pink beige, the kid with a satin finish, is banded with diagonal stripes of soft burgundy suede, ideal for a plain burgundy frock. To match a shiny black snakeskin bag are gloves with backs of the same snakeskin, the palms of suede and lined throughout with silk. With a corded velveteen cravat come gloves in spruce green to match, fabric palms allied with with the velveteen backs and interlined for additional winter warmth. Also part of a set are gloves, belt and scarf of heavy twine crochet, ideal for wear with tweeds or sports clothes. For evening, long gloves in pastel colours of suede are extremely smart, and form a pleasing contrast to the gown. With gold or silver materials, hand-crocheted gloves in silver or gold tinsel thread, some studded with white lor coloured rhinestones, are other fashion notes for the woman who goes hand in glove with smartness.
