OTTAWA, Canada. —The value of Canada’s August imports was 57,026,000 dollars, compared with 69,966,000 dollars in August last year, a decline of 18.5 per cent. Purchases from the United States totalled 35,269,000 dollars, compared with 40,163,000 dollars, a drop of 12.2 per cent. Imports from the United Kingdom fell 21.1 per cent to 10,370,000 dollars, from 13,142,000 dollars. Imports from the British West Indies aggregated 1,942,000 dollars, compared with 1,856,000 dollars; Germany, 1,037,000 dollars, against 1,062,000 dollars; Straits Settlements, 804,000 dollars, against 1,561,000 dollars; Colombia, 626,000 dollars, against 509,000 dollars; British India, 539,000 dollars, against 678,000 dollars; Australia, 527,000 dollars, against 1,083,000 dollars; France, 543,000 dollars, against 647,000 dollars; Belgium, 464,000 dollars, against 694,000 dollars, and Japan 405,000 dollars, against 530,000 dollars.
