CZECH PRESIDENT

ANNOUNCEMENT LIKELY THIS WEEKEND

FEELING AGAINST DR BENES A SIGNIFICANT TREND

By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) PRAGUE, November 14.

The designation of Dr Benes’s successor is likely at the weekend. M Chvalkovsky is the strongest candidate for the presidency. The turn of opinion against Dr Benes is further revealed by the action of the Czechoslovak Shipping Company, which has cancelled the name of its finest ship, Edouard Benes. The newspaper “Venkov” demands the withdrawal of Dr Benes’s photograph from stamps. M Chvalkovsky informed party leaders that while he was abroad for three years as a diplomatic representative he sent constant vain warnings on the trend of Czech foreign jpolicy. His counsels were not followed.
