PRESIDENT OF TURKEY
SUCCESSOR TO ATATURK. SUPPORT FOR FORMER PREMIER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. ISTANBUL. November 11. The majority of Turkish Parliamentarians have decided to support the former Premier, Ismet Inonu, as the successor to Kamal Ataturk, who died yesterday. Ataturk’s body will lie in state at the Dolmabagtche Palace before the State funeral at Ankara. The burial will take place in a magnificent mausoleum.

ISMET ELECTED. VETERAN WAR COMMANDER. (Received This Day. 9.50 a.m.) ISTANBUL, November 11. Ismet Inonu has been elected President. He is aged 58 and commanded one of Kamal Ataturk's armies ,in the Turkish war of independence and was responsible for a crushing defeat of the Greeks. He shares Kamal Ataturk’s view of Turkish foreign policy and the desirability of maintaining friendship with Britain and Russia. KING’S CONDOLENCES. (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, November 11. The King has sent a message of condolence to Turkey. It is announced that Field-Marshal Birdwood will represent the King at the funeral of Kamal Ataturk.
