UNION CABINET
CHANGES IN SOUTH AFRICA MR PIROW RETAINS DEFENCE PORTFOLIO (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, November 8. A number of Cabinet changes are announced. Mr W. R. Collins has been appointed Minister of Agriculture, and Mr H. Henderson, Minister without portfolio to fill vacancies caused by the resignations of Messrs Hofmeyer and Sturrock. Colonel Reitz, former Minister of Agriculture, becomes Minister of mines. Mr Fourie, formerly Minister of Commerce, will take over Railways, while Mr O. Pirow will retain Defence, in addition to Commerce.
