WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. MEETING AT DYERVILLE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The November meeting of the Dyerville Women’s Institute was held in the Dyerville Hall when there was a good attendance of members. Two new members were welcomed. During the afternoon a competition for the best item given by the school children was held and won by Fay Garrity (song). Stan Malton (song) tied for second place with Molly McGillicuddy (song) and Peggy McIntosh (dance). Other competitons were won by Mrs Phelps and Mrs O’Keefe. The prize for the best bloom went to Mrs Jamieson. Arrangements were made to hold ihe annual garden party on December 3 at Mrs Waugh’s residence. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Bain and Walton. Personal Items. Mrs lan Grace, of Auckland, is visiting Martinborough renewing old acquaintances. The friends of Mrs K. W. MacLaren will regret to learn that ill-health has again caused her to enter Tiri Hospital. Mr W. Holland, of Messrs Pain and' Kershaw’s staff, will leave on Saturday 1 ro take a new position in Marton. Members of the Martinborough branch of the N.Z.A.R.T. gathered in the club room last evening to farewell Mr W. Holland. Mr Holland was a foundation member of the club, and has always worked wholeheartedly in its interests. His departure is very much regretted by every member. During the evening the club president, Mr R. Wright, asked Mr Holland to accept a shaving outfit as a token of appreciation from the members of the club, and wished him success in his new position. Musical honours were accorded Mr Holland, who suitably replied.
