CHURCH SERVICES
Tomorrow will be a great day at St Matthew’s Church. Following celebrations of the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., the annual confirmation service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Rt Rev H. St Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington. An exceptionally large number of candidates are to be presented. There will be a celebration at Kuripuni at 9 a.m., and service at Taueru at 2.30 p.m.
One of the great festival days of the Methodist Church will be celebrated tomorrow, the occasion being the Sunday School anniversary, which will be marked by three importantservices —at 11 a.m., 2.45 p.m. (when special items will be given by the Infant Department) and at 7 p.m. The preacher for the day is the Rev Fred J. Parker Mr Parker has had wide experience of children’s work in Auckland, and he will give three special object talks to the boys and girls on ‘’Bottles,” "Ropes,” and “Fireworks.” In. the evening there will be a short talk to grown-ups on “Dad—the Boy’s Best Pal.” Hundreds of children will form Ine grand choir, and with the orchestra will be under the baton of Mr W. Davies. As the church can barely hold all those desiring to come, members are asked to be early in their places. Special services will be conducted tomorrow at the Salvation Army barracks by Mrs Major Mahaffie and Adjutant Hutchins. At the evening service Adjutant Hutchins, will fell ihe thriPmg story of her conversion. A cordial invitation is extended to the services.
