BEAUTY CONTEST
FINALISTS AT PALMERSTON NORTH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ November 2. Four of the contestants in. the final of the New Zealand beauty contest to be staged at the Manawatu Spring Show arrived by train shortly after noon.today. They are: Miss J. Davie (Miss Wellington), Miss Searell (Miss Canterbury), Miss P. Faith (Miss South Canterbury), Miss L. Murdoch (Miss Otago). Miss E. Ballick (Miss(Auckland) arrives tonight. The sixth finalist is Miss L. Morris' (Miss Manawatu). They were met at the station by Messrs J. A. Nash, H. Kissling (secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association), J. Selwyn, and F. Cousins (organiser). They were welcomed on behalf of the committee of the association and presented with posies of roses. Members of the executive then transported them to their hotel.' The afternoon was spent in selecting their wardrobe.
