MANAWATU SPRING SHOW

SPLENDID ENTRIES. Most gratifying entries were received for the Manawatu A. and P. Association’s Spring Show which began today at Palmerston North and the quality in all sections is such that those who attend will find much to interest them no matter what they may be seeking. The sheep and cattle as well as pigs and dogs include animals that were exhibited at the Royal Shqw at Hamilton last week, many of them being prize-winners in their various classes. In addition there are splendid offerings from all over the Manawatu and adjacent districts. For tomorrow the Association has arranged an attractive programme, which includes school pony events, judging thoroughbreds, principal hunting events, grand parade of stock and the second appearance of the six finalists in the “Miss New Zealand” beauty contest. Those who have attended have been most struck by the modern facilities that the Association has installed to make for the smoother running of such a vast organisation. The public address system reaches all corners of the ground and keeps everyone in touch with important events. The grandstands are sufficiently large to allow all those who wish to do so to watch the oval attractions in comfort. The whole show reflects brightness and an air of progressiveness in keeping with the reputation of the Association.
