MOVE ON FOOCHOW
ANOTHER LANDING MADE BY JAPANESE PORT DISORGANISED GOVERNMENT OFFICES EVACUATED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SHANGHAI, November 1. Thirty-two warships landed another Japanese army today at Futsing, 30 miles south of Foochow, the capital of Kien Province, for a new invasion from the sea. Foochow, which is the most important port for the tea trade midway between Shanghai and Hong Kong, is reported to be disorganised. The banks and Government offices have been evacuated and the Customs suspended.
INLAND FIGHTING JAPANESE DRIVE ON KIANGSI (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) CHUNKING, November 2. The Japanese are driving southwards against Nanchang, the capital of the Kiangsi Province, eastward from the Yangtse River. The Chinese have recaptured Langkan and are threatening Yangain.
