SKETCH CLUB

EXHIBITION OF PICTURES AND OTHER WORK. The annual exhibition of the Masterton Sketch Club, which opened last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Hall, has attracted considerable attention. The exhibition is said to have been one of the most comprehensive ever held by the club. There was a full range of water colours, oils, pastels and drawings, embracing every variety of subject and many of them executed with a commendable degree of skill and artistry. Some still-life studies were outstanding. A feature of the exhibition was the display of children’s work, in which designs, pastels, drawings and water colours were prominent. The children of ten schools were responsible for the work shown. Yesterday afternoon the exhibition was open for private view, when there was a large attendance of visitors. The exhibition .was open to the public last evening and this afternoon.
