TENNIS TOUR CANCELLED
PLAYERS NOT AVAILABLE. N.Z. TEAM FOR NEW SOUTH WALES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr H. N. Burns, secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association stated yesterday that because three of the four promising players originally selected to visit New South Wales notified the association that they were not available on the conditions laid down, the management committee approached others of the nominated players. As only two of those approached were available, the management committee decided at a meeting held yesterday afternoon that the sending of a team this year be cancelled. The original team was: A. D. Brown, J. Mayson, J. Gunn, all of Auckland; and R. Pattinson, Canterbury. The Auckland men were the ones who declared themselves not available on the conditions.
Mr H. M. Boddington, of Masterton, was to have managed the team.
