MASTERTON STOCK SALE

PRICES FOR FATS AGAIN FALL PIG VALUES FIRM. There was a further decline in prices for fat sheep at today’s Masterton stock sale. The entry was large, but although buyers were fairly active they operated within definite limits, owing no doubt to the uncertain export trade outlook. Fat wethers brought 18s to 19s 6d, fat ewes Us to 12s and prime fats from 12s 7d to 17s 9d. Heavy fat ewes made tip to 13s and woolly wethers to 24s 9d. Prime S.D. ewes sold at 14s 6d, fat mixed sex 2-ths. at 19s Bd, and fat wethers at 19s. Pig values firmed and made up to 28s. Fat sheep showed an all round easing in price as compared with last sale.
